MANILA, Philippines — Hot weather is expected to prevail across the country on Wednesday due to easterlies, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa weather specialist Rhea Torres said that easterlies, or the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, will continue to bring hot weather to many parts of the country until the weekend.
Torres said that the weather conditions will be felt in Luzon, especially at noon.
“Kung may pag-ulan man ay dulot ito ng isolated thunderstorm, especially pagdating sa hapon o sa gabi,” Torres noted.
(If there are rains, they are caused by isolated thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening.)

The same weather conditions will prevail in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.
However, Torres said that the western portion of Mindanao will experience thunderstorms, especially in Zamboanga Peninsula, South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, General Santos City, and the Bangsamoro region.
“Pero itong thunderstorms na ito ay hindi po natin inaasahan na tatagal buong araw. So asahan po natin na patuloy na mararanasan yung mainit na panahon,” Torres added.
(But the thunderstorms are not expected to last the whole day, so expect that we will continue to experience hot weather.)
Pagasa also said that the highest heat index is forecast to reach 50 degrees Celsius in Los Baños, Laguna, on Wednesday. The state weather bureau further advised the public to stay hydrated to avoid any complications.
Meanwhile, no gale warning is raised on any seaboards of the country.
