MANILA, Philippines — Ridership on the Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (Edsa) bus carousel increased by 36 percent in the first quarter of 2025, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced on Thursday.
According to a statement from the DOTr Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT), the busway had 15,926,500 passengers from January to March 2025, higher than the 11,690,650 passengers during the same period in 2024.
The SAICT further detailed that there were 5,503,388 riders in January 2025; 4,889,045 riders in February 2025; and 5,534,067 riders in March 2025.
The transport committee also touted that it had 317 buses operating daily, reducing travel time from Monumento to the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) between 45 minutes and an hour.
