PNP deploys 21,000 personnel for Undas 2024
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has deployed 21,000 personnel nationwide to ensure public safety during the observance of this year’s All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day or Undas.
PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said they added around 3,000 personnel on the projected deployment of 18,000.

“Nasa 21,000 na po ‘yung ide-deploy natin for Undas; nadagdagan po ‘yan ng more or less 3,000 from the earlier projected deployment na 18,000,” Fajardo disclosed during a press briefing on Wednesday.
(Around 21,000 will be deployed for Undas; we added 3,000 more from the projected deployment of 18,000.)
She added that regional directors across the country were likewise given the discretion to increase the number of deployments “depending on the prevailing security situation in their respective areas.”

According to Fajardo, they started dispatching personnel as early as Monday, October 28.
“Dahil marami na tayo na-monitor na maaga pa lang ay nagpunta na sa mga sementeryo,” she explained.

Earlier, Fajardo said these personnel will be deployed to police assistance desks in cemeteries and transport terminals to assist residents traveling to their respective provinces.
Revitalized “pulis sa barangay” are also expected to patrol residential areas to prevent robbery-related crimes during the holiday, she also said.
